


Silver American Eagles The most popular silver bullion coin, American Silver Eagles were first produced in 1986 by the United States government. The design for the coin was first used for the Walking Liberty Half Dollar which originally was created in 1916. The obverse of the Silver Eagles has the word LIBERTY at the top of the coin. The reverse has the image of an eagle with shield carrying an olive branch and arrows in its talons. An inverse pyramid of 13 stars represents the original 13 colonies and floats above its head. Encircling the eagle are the words "United States of America 1oz Fine Silver One Dollar." As with the Gold Eagles, the United States government guarantees the content, weight and purity of each coin.
